Chart Planet is about charts and the planet.

I will raise random questions about what’s interesting to me in this world, find answers in numbers, translate them into charts and visuals, and share them here. Topics are mostly about economics, but economics is a wide science that covers social, environmental and business issues, basically – the whole setup of the world.

In the background, I will explore the field of data visualization, which is another way of saying things – a language. Consider me as a translator.

This page is not about money or investing. This page is not about thorough analysis, it’s about shallow analysis. This page is not for providing lots of detailed information in the format of data puke. It is more about providing pre-digested insights and conclusions. Sometimes they are far fetched conclusions from a limited amount of data, sometimes they are just restating the obvious, but this time backed by statistics. This page is not to teach you anything, me and you learn together.

Glad to see you here!

I use R, Tableau, Excel and other tools for making calculations and creating charts.
Sometimes I edit them with Inkscape or Paint.net.
I use various free online databases for gathering data.
